Eastern Maine Snowmobilers, Inc.
April 2005 Club News
Another season has come to an end, but what a
great year it turned out to be! Some new events were held and others
returned. We started off with a Spring Yard Sale, which was a great hit, and
later a Charity Ride in conjunction with Brewer Wal-Mart, to benefit the
Children's Miracle Network. Returning were; our Chicken Barbecue, Landowner
Supper, Halloween Dance, Christmas Party, New Year's Eve Dance, a Club Trip
to Ashland and our Spring Raffle, this year with three prizes. Mother Nature
gave us some great snow this season and the club kitchen was very busy on
the weekends. Our members also voted to update our grooming fleet with one
new 2005 and also a used 1998 VK 540.
At our Annual Meeting in April, the Eastern Maine Snowmobiler's Outstanding
Member Award was presented, this year to Brad & Sis Rice of Brewer.
Congratulations folks and thanks for all you both do for our club!
That same night the drawing for our Spring Raffle was held. The winners
were; #1361 John White, #555 Mike Gilmore and #582 Art Curtis.
Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to everyone that sold tickets
for the Spring Raffle!
Also at our Annual Meeting, the election of Officers & Directors was held.
The Officers remain the same for next season with the exception of the
Treasurer. That position is still open at this time and must be filled ASAP.
If you are interested or have questions about that position please contact
Marty at 989-3487. We would like to thank our outgoing Treasurer, Jamie
Madore, for her years of service as well as outgoing Directors Tracy Porter
and Earl Seymour. We would also like to welcome a new Director, Eric Petley.
Our yearly audit of the books was presented at the April meeting and once
again it was recommended that the Treasurer be provided with accounting
software to make the job easier and more efficient. We are currently looking
at options to comply with that recommendation. If anyone has a laptop they
have out grown or are no longer using and would be willing to donate or sell
to the club at a modest price, please contact Marty.
Don't forget our Spring Yard Sale and Bake Sale on May 21st at the
clubhouse. Donated items can be dropped off at the club Thursday 3-6pm and
Friday 1-6pm or contact Jamie at 989-6768. The doors open at 8am sharp on
Saturday.
Don't miss this one!
We would like to welcome our newest member, Barry Woodard of Ellsworth.
WELCOME!
