Eastern Maine Snowmobilers, Inc.
December 2004 Club News
Hello again everyone,
It's beginning to look like a white Christmas for us! Riding has been
reported in Northern and Western parts of our State and our turn is coming soon.
Are you and your sled ready for that first ride? Preparation is the key to
success.
Our next meeting is December 19th, with a potluck
supper at 6pm and
meeting at 7pm, followed by our Yankee Swap Christmas Party. Come join the fun!
The first annual EMSC Craft Fair was a great success,
bringing in a
combined total of $532.50 for the day. Crafters also booked 8 tables for next
season. Thanks to Robbie, Sam Maquillan & James McKeen for staffing our kitchen
on
that day. Also thanks to Rose Reifer, Judy Butler, Marty, Jim and Lew for
their help on the event and those of you who donated items for the Bake Sale.
Have you noticed all the new activities and events that
have been taking
place at our club lately?
A canoe raffle, a yard sale and now a craft fair. As many of you know our
general account, which supports the operation of our clubhouse, was in the red
last year due to increased utility and insurance costs, and below normal income
generated from of lack snow or riding in our area. It seems that our
Treasurer, who has to pay our bills with no money, took this somewhat personal.
Jamie
Madore, with the support of our directors, introduced, promoted, organized and
operated these events with the help of countless volunteers from our
membership. Combined, this has amounted to over $2500.00 in new income to our
club! Her
donation of time, energy and resources has not gone unnoticed, as she was
recognized for her efforts at our last meeting. We are indeed fortunate to have
Jamie as a member and thank her for all she has done and continues to do for
the Eastern Maine Snowmobilers, Inc.
Super Raffle: Tickets must be turned in by this Sunday's meeting! The drawing
is the 21st.
Club Trip: Reservations and deposits for this year's club trip (Feb. 18th &
19th) must be made directly
