December 2006 Club News
Hello Everyone and Happy Holidays!
Let’s welcome our newest members since the last meeting: Tami York from Bangor, Donald & Gail MacKenzie from Eddington and Ken Oberg from Ellsworth – WELCOME!
Our next meeting is December 17th, with a potluck supper at 6:00 p.m. and meeting at 7:00 p.m., followed by our Christmas Party. If you would like to participate in the Yankee Swap, bring a unisex gift, wrapped, ($10.00 value). If you have children, please bring a gift for them with their name on it.
There have been some very busy members renovating the clubhouse – it’s looks awesome! If you can’t make it to the meeting on Sunday, please stop in some time and check it out. One item of discussion at the December meeting is redoing the entry way like the main hall.
We will be holding our Annual EMSC New Year’s Eve Dance at the clubhouse on December 31st from 8:30 to 1:00 at the club, $20.00 per couple – BYOB. Light snacks, ice and soda will be provided.
One-hundred and sixty breakfasts were served at the Annual Hunter’s breakfast. Special thanks to the Friday Night Potato Peelers and Set Up Crew: Joanne Garrison, Marcia Mower, Lisa and Paul Gargan, Susie Heistand, Heather Soule, Ormel O’Hara, Bob Heistand, Bob Sekera, Jim Butler, Harold Miller, Charlie Mitchell, Dick Crawford, Anita Farris, and Larry and Eileen Lafland; the Saturday Morning Kitchen Crew: Charlie Mitchell, Troy Grass and Marcia Mower; Front Table Workers: Lew Tourtillotte and Larry Lafland; and Joanne Garrison as Runner/Back-up Kitchen and Clean-up.
300 Club Tickets are still available! If you know of anyone who wants to buy a ticket, contact Brent at 989-7762 or 944-7762. Congratulations to the winners from the November meeting: Carol McLaughlin $500; Glen Newry $200; Brenda Bryant $100; Kitty Cotton $50; Percy Gondrow $50; Bob Briggs $50; and Ted Russell $50.
Super Raffle Ticket sales will continue until the February 20th drawing. 1,193 tickets have been sold so far. Tickets will be available at the clubhouse once the club is open for the season on Friday nights and weekends. If anyone needs more tickets to sell please contact Lew at 989-7019. A big “THANK YOU” goes out to all of those volunteering their time to sell tickets at Marden’s. (172 tickets were sold on November 26th and 316 the weekend of December 2nd.)
Only 136 tickets separated us from the first place winners, Glenburn Lakeside Riders, of the MSA Super Raffle Sales Contest. We came in third, out of 286 clubs. To everyone who helped make this happen, “THANK YOU”. A special “THANK YOU” to Super Lew for his hard work and drive to make this a successful fundraiser for our club.
November Pot of Gold drawing for $10.00 was won by Tami York. The 50/50 drawing and t-shirt was won by Judy Butler.
We still need cooks for meeting nights and Friday nights. A sign up sheet will be available at the clubhouse. You choose what you want to serve and you will be reimbursed for the food and supplies that you buy – keep your receipts and submit them to Nancy Flagg. If you’d like more information, please contact me at 843-0749 or catrider550@adelphia.net.
