The club house opened for the season January 5th.  Thank you to Mike Nelligan and Joanne Grover and Lisa and Paul Gargan for starting out the season serving very delicious meals.  Brent and Pam Spaulding will be serving Chili and Corn bread January 19th.  A sign-up sheet will be distributed at the meeting as we have a few open dates.  If you can’t make it to the meeting please let me (catrider550@adelphia.net) know if you’d like to volunteer for one of the Friday nights:  January 26th, February 9th, February 23rd, March 2nd, March 9th, March 16th and March 23rd.   In addition to the Friday night suppers, we are looking for volunteers to cook for the meetings on March 18th and April 22nd

Weekend hours are changed:  Saturday hours are 11-7 and Sunday 11-5.  THINK SNOW!

Depending on Mother Nature, the following rides/events are tentatively scheduled:

·         Women’s IF&W Safety Course, February 3rd at the club house

·         Pine Tree Camp Ride-in, February 3rd

·         Jackman trip February 16th and 17th.  There are a few rooms at the Boss Motel available.  Contact Eric Petley for details (843-7970).

There have been discussions on issues surrounding the illegal cutting of trails at Acadia National Park.  Park officials are warning snowmobilers that if you ride in the park stay on the correct trails and follow the speed limit.  The park will be strictly enforced.   In addition to this, please respect the landowner’s property.  Our landowners make it possible in the success of our trail systems.

Volunteers are needed to help with the grooming.  Please contact Larry Lafland (843-7813) if you’re interested for either a day or night shift.  Training will be provided – THINK SNOW!!!

The rental season begins April 1st.  Please keep us in mind if you have an event in the near future or if you know of anyone who would be interested in renting the club, please contact me for details.  A rental calendar is on the web site, which allows you to check and see if the dates you are considering are available.

I hope to see you on Friday night for Chili and at the meeting on Sunday.
