March 2005 MSA Newsletter

Hello again,

WOW…what a difference 48 hours can make! At the time of this writing, we have gone from almost no riding to some of the best in our area in years. Our club president is getting a lot of credit (and some other comments I can’t include here) for her Snow Dance, but we all know that Mother Nature still has the final say in the weather.

The snow arrived just in the nick of time for us to hold our Charity Ride, in conjunction with the Brewer Wal-Mart, to benefit The Children’s Miracle Network. We are very pleased with our first attempt at this event and plans are to make it even bigger next year. We would like to thank the unsung heroes of this event (our trail crew) who worked 24 hours straight ahead, dealing with 2 feet of fresh snow, so that others could have a safe and enjoyable ride that day. Thanks guys and girls! Your dedication to your club and the sport is second to none, and thanks to all who participated in the event.

We also had a good response to the Women’s Snowmobile Safety Training Course held at our club in February. Eight IF&W Certificates of Completion were handed out at the end of the day, with some very positive reactions from all involved.

Some of our members traveled to Ashland in February for our annual club trip, while others took part in some of our neighboring club’s events.

March finds us operating our spring raffle. This year we have a canoe and a kayak going to two lucky winners. The drawing will be at our Annual Meeting on April 17th and tickets are available from any of our members, or you can contact the club at the address listed below.

As always, if you would like more information about our club you can reach us at PO Box 226 Brewer, ME 04412, at 989-2788 or at the web address listed above.

Enjoy the ride and see you on the trails!

Jim
