November 2005 Club News
Hello everyone,
November already… The countdown to the first ride is under way. I’m hearing from more and more members that this will be a real “first ride” on a new ride!
The next club meeting is this Sunday, November 20th at 7:00pm. Supper will be baked chicken, baked potato, squash, beans and gingerbread & whipped cream at 6:00.
Due to personal reasons, Troy Grass has been forced to step down as our Vice President. We would like to thank Troy for his service and wish him the very best. With this news, we are currently seeking someone to fill the now open Vice Presidents position. Please contact Marty or any of the directors for more information.
Eileen Lafland headed up our annual Hunter’s Breakfast, which was held on November 12th. Thanks to our great kitchen crew helping with the Hunter’s Breakfast this year. On Friday night there were some super potato peelers there; Suzie Heistand, Heather Soule, Bob Heistand, Eric Petley, John and Karen Ryan, Marsha Mower, Dick Crawford, Larry Lafland, Jim and Marty White, Troy Grass, and Charlie Mitchell with his grandson, Josh. Saturday morning Troy Grass, Charlie Mitchell and Jan Logan were in the kitchen with Larry Lafland and Lew Tourtillotte taking over 160 orders, selling memberships and Super Raffle tickets. At clean up time Jim and Marty White, Nina White, Doris and Earl Seymour, along with the kitchen crew did the clean up. A huge thank you goes to Troy Grass, his sister and father for the donation of 30 dozen eggs! Once again these people brought in a profit of over $500 for the club. Many thanks to all of you!
There were 72 MSA Super Raffle tickets sold at the Hunter’s Breakfast. We are in need of help selling for two dates at Brewer Marden’s. November 27th and December 4th are both Sundays from 11-5. If you can spare an hour or two for your club, there is a signup sheet at the clubhouse or contact “Super Lew” at 989-7019.
300 club drawings start Sunday! If you had a ticket in the past and have not renewed it for this year, THE TIME IS NOW! This is a big fundraiser for our club and it is important that all tickets are sold. If you have a number to renew, want another ticket or would like to buy one for the first time, contact Brent Spaulding at 989-7762 ASAP. You could win $500.00 this Sunday!
If you are interested in this year’s Club Trip, there are still a few rooms available at the Boss Motel in Jackman for February 17th & 18th. We have the whole place secured for the weekend and a ride to the Forks for lunch on Saturday is being worked out. If you would like to be part of the fun, call Eric Petley at 843-7970 to get on the list.
We would like to welcome Dale Fox of Eddington as our newest member.
