Eastern Maine Snowmobilers, Inc.
September 2005 Club News
It's September, and the activities at our clubhouse are beginning for another season. I don't know about you, but after the hot, muggy months of July and August, I'm ready for some cooler drier weather. And I know some of our members are already looking forward to the first ride on their new 2006 snowmobile.
We will be kicking off our 35th season on September 25th with our Open House and Chicken Barbeque from 2-6pm. Please note: this is the 4th Sunday of the month, so those of you who do (and there are many) could attend the NASCAR race this last weekend in New Hampshire. As in the past the meal will be free to those who renew their memberships on or before that day and there is a free membership to the person who signs up the most new members that day. So, start reminding people you know, who have said they would like to join and never did, now is the time. You could be a member for free!
The club, as always, will provide snacks and punch through the afternoon. If any of you would like to bring snacks or sweets to share with everyone at the Open House, please feel free. After all, this is your club!
The lock at the clubhouse has been changed over the summer. This is something we do every several years to help keep things safe and sound. New keys will be available, to any member wishing one, at our Open House for one dollar each.
MSA Super Raffle Tickets: Tickets are available NOW. If you need tickets to sell, have a business you have left tickets with before, or know of a new place who would be willing to help us sell, contact Lew @ 989-7019 or Marty @ 989-3487. We are also in need of volunteers to sell tickets at the MSA Show in Augusta and Mardens in Brewer. Contact Lew for more information. Remember, the tickets are easy to sell and our club makes $1.00 on every one sold! All money raised from Super Raffle sales goes for the repairs and updates to our clubhouse.
So far at Brewer Walmart Supercenter we sold 35 tickets on August 20th and 80 on September 17th. Thank you Brewer Walmart, B&D Marine (for a display sled), Friend & Friend-Ellsworth, Troy Grass, Roger Wood, "Hollywood", Jeanne, Brianna & Brittany Luetjen, Dee & Lauren Tourtillotte and Jim & Marty White for their support and/or help.
Trail days will be beginning October 2nd. Volunteers meet Sunday mornings at 7:30am right at our clubhouse. Contact Larry, at his new number, 843-7813 to learn how you can help do your part in making our trail system the best it has ever been.
Don't forget our website! www.easternmainesnowmobilers.com is a great place to keep up on the latest news and events at our club and our trail map can be printed right off the website. Also you call the club phone at 989-2788 and listen to the latest news and updates. Both are available 24/7.
See you Sunday!
