Eastern Maine Snowmobilers, Inc.
September 2006 MSA Newsletter
Hello everyone!
I’d like to introduce myself – my name is Joanne and I’m the newly appointed secretary for the Eastern Maine Snowmobilers Club. Jim White has contributed to the column for the past several years, and he has turned that duty over to me. THANK YOU JIM FOR A JOB WELL DONE!
The club rentals totaled 14 this season, with more open dates available through December. Our hall seats up to 150-200 people, offers a full kitchen, plenty of parking and reasonable rates, for members and non-members. If you’re planning a surprise birthday party, bridal or baby shower, or just want to get together with family and friends, contact me for details by calling the club at 989-2788 or visit our web site – www.easternmainesnowmobilers.com.
Our new club President, Dain Bryant, Vice President, Eric Petley, Treasurer, Nancy Flagg and I are looking forward to a busy season. Our first big event is our annual chicken BBQ and membership drive on Sunday, September 24th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This is free to those renewing their membership or for new members signing up. Local dealers are welcome to display their new sleds, which is always turns into quite a conversation piece. Our first club meeting of the season will follow the meal.
The 2006/2007 Schedule of Events is available on line and will be sent with the September newsletter. Copies will also be available at the membership drive on September 24th. Events include our Landowner Recognition dinner in October, Hunters’ Breakfast in November, Christmas Party, New Year’s Eve Dance, Women’s IF&W Snowmobile Safety Training in February. A weekend club ride to Jackman is scheduled in February as well. We are all hoping for snow, so do your snow dance!
Our club house and kitchen opens for the season January 6, 2007 thru March on Friday nights and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Our kitchen offers burgers, hot dogs, fries, coffee, hot chocolate and much more. We are located at 263 Levenseller Road in Holden. If you’re in the area, stop by and say “hi”. We hope to see many new faces this season.
Until next time,
Joanne
Secretary
