January 2012 Newsletter
Happy
New Year!
The
season is not starting out as we would like and only “flurries” in the
forecast. Hopefully by the time you get this newsletter the weather
watchers will be wrong and the snow will come.
Until
the “snow fairy” visits us, the kitchen will NOT be open on weekends.
However, Friday night dinners will go on as planned. In an attempt to
save money, the kitchen will NOT be stocked with the usual food items
(hamburger and hot dogs) until we have snow and can open on the weekends.
With that said, the Friday night dinners will be meals prepared by members who
have signed up to cook. There will be French fries (unfortunately not the
fresh cut ones) and Onion rings available.
We
need your help! The following Friday nights are open. Please
contact me (843-0749) if you’re interested in preparing a meal. Keep in
mind to keep it simple (and in-expensive). January 20;
February 3; February 10; February 17; March 2; March 9; March 16; March
23. You can be reimbursed for items up to $50.00, by
providing a sales receipt to our treasurer Paul Gargan.
The
next club meeting is Sunday, January 15 at 7:00 P.M. following the club
dinner at 6:00. Danielle, Jason and Sissy will be preparing
the meal. They haven’t indicated what they’re cooking, but I’m sure it
will be delicious. The Board of Directors meets at 5:00.
For
your calendars, the remaining 2012 club meetings are as follows. Everyone
will be notified of any changes to the schedule. All meetings begin at
7:00 following dinner at 6:00:

v Sunday, April 15 (Annual Meeting)
v September 16 – Open House/Membership
Drive
v October 21
v November 18
v December 16 (Christmas Party)

ü The 2nd Annual United States
Cross Country (USCC) Snowmobile Race Madawaska 100, hosted by the
Madawaska Snowmobile Club, will be held on February 18, in Madawaska. The
Madawaska snowmobile club gave EMSC two Spectator Passes, which will be
raffled off at the January meeting. Event schedule or Race Entry can be
