Summer 2011 Newsletter

At
our May Board meeting we thought it would be a good idea to send out a summer
newsletter highlighting some upcoming events.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 14
An open invitation to all members and their families is sent from
Larry and Eileen Lafland to spend a day at their home
on Lucerne Lake for swimming, boating, and a BBQ. All they ask is
for you to bring a chair and whatever you would like to BBQ. If you
have children, please make sure you have a life jacket for them.
The grills will be fired up in time for lunch at 1:00. This happens to be
a Board of Directors meeting day so what better place to have a meeting, which
will start at 3:00. Note from Jan to all Board members, “Don’t
forget your $10.00”. Come early and enjoy!!!

Directions to Larry & Eileen’s home: Take Route 1A from Brewer towards Ellsworth. Go past the
Lucerne Inn. At the bottom of the hill turn right and bare left on to
old Route 1A (Lily Road). Stay on that until you cross the abandoned RR
tracks. Just after them there is a power substation on your left.
Turn right and bare left on to Lakeview Avenue ( Fire
Road 40). Go just a short distance and bare right staying on the tarred
road (still Lakeview Avenue , Fire Road 40).
From there it is approximately 2-1/2 miles, stay on the tarred road and
continue on it once it turns to dirt. Their house is the last house on
your left before crossing the brook. There is a “Trail’s End” sign
hanging by the road just before the driveway. House number 584 is on
the garage as well as their name. Follow the EMSC signs and balloons. |
SATURDAY, AUGUST 27
The Annual EMSC Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, August
27th at the club house ( 263 Levenseller Road ) from 9:00 – 4:00.
We cleared over $1,000 last year with your help, and again we are asking
for your donations this year. In addition, we could use help setting
up, pricing items, working in the kitchen, assisting our yard sale customers,
and cleaning up. A bake table will be set up, so those of you who
do not have items to donate, you could drop off a cake, cookies, bars, or
whatever you have time to bake.

day/time to drop off donations at the club house. Thank you
in advance for your help!!!
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18
This will be the Annual EMSC Open House/Membership Drive.
More information will be forthcoming as we get closer.
