EASTERN MAINE SNOWMOBILE CLUB

November 2011 Newsletter

Hello,

First of all I’d like to welcome our new members:  Tom and Brenda Vanchieri; Ryan Craven (RC Builders); Randy Spencer; and Jay Otis.

This will be the last EMSC newsletter you will receive if you don’t renew your membership.  You will not receive your Maine Snowmobiler paper this month either and that also means your insurance has run out.  If you haven’t received your membership card, contact Eileen Lafland (843-7813) ASAP to find out how to renew your membership.

The next club meeting is Sunday, November 20 at 7:00 P.M. following the club dinner at 6:00.  Tom and Stacey Seymour and Dick Crawford will be preparing and serving a boiled dinner that includes fresh veggies from Dick’s garden.  Come and enjoy good food for the minimal cost of $5.00 per person.  Please remember that you don’t have to be a member to attend – so bring a friend or family member.  The Board of Directors meets at 5:00.

The first 300 Club drawing of the season will be held at the November meeting.  If you have not purchased your ticket(s) call Brent at 989-7762 or catch him before a meeting.  Seven numbers are drawn at each meeting from November through April – you have one chance to $500, $200, $100 and four chances to win $50.

With the holidays quickly approaching, you have an opportunity to get a jump on your Christmas shopping at the Annual Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, November 19th from 9:00 – 3:00 at the club house – 263 Levenseller Road .  We have a few tables left for vendors.  If you know of anyone interested in a table, please ask them to call Joanne (843-0749), Lisa (843-5811) or Pam (659-7541).   We would appreciate bake goods for our “goody table” which can be dropped off either the night before (between 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.) or the morning of the fair (Rita’s date squares, Marty’s magic bars,“hint, hint” just to name a few).  There will be door prizes, 50/50 drawings, membership applications, and Super Raffle tickets.  We look forward to another successful year.

The Hunters Breakfast was another success.  Eileen wishes to thank all those who helped again this year.  Dick Crawford, Ardene and Susie Heistand, and Larry Lafland spent Friday evening cutting potatoes and setting up for the next morning.  Come Saturday morning Marcia Mower, Charlie Mitchell and Troy Grass were at their places in the kitchen cooking and serving meals.  Out in the hall Larry Lafland, Joanne Garrison, Wally and Lorena Fenlason, Don MacKenzie, Brent Spaulding, Dave Rubey and Donna Wood kept things cleaned up and stocked, sold tickets and cleaned up afterwards.

We continue to look for someone to cook on weekends this winter.   If you’re unable to commit to every weekend – that’s OK – we will appreciate any time you can give.  For example, I wouldn’t mind splitting a weekend or two with someone.  Please call Dain (852-5115) if you’re interested.

News from Larry and Trails:  There is still trail work to be done and works days continue every Sunday.  Please meet at the club house at 8:00 Sunday morning to help get the trails ready to ride.  Many hands will help make the work go faster.

The Officers and Board members want to wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving.

I’m looking forward to seeing you at the craft fair and the club meeting this weekend.

Joanne
