November 2008 Newsletter
Hello!
Welcome to our newest EMSC members: John Chipman & Michelle Rafferty from
Surry and Thomas Gott from
An important reminder about memberships: Please
return your membership application and fee to EMSC,
The meeting this month is Sunday, November 16th at
7:00 p.m. A pot luck supper begins at
6:00, so whip up your favorite dish to share.
The first 300 club ticket will be drawn this evening. There are plenty of tickets available, so
contact Brent Spaulding if you’d like to buy a ticket prior to the meeting
(989-7762). Better yet, attend the
meeting. This is a great opportunity to
get acquainted or reacquainted with members.
Trail work is ongoing every
Sunday morning (8:00 a.m. to noon) to get the trails ready for the first ride. More volunteers are needed. I want to thank those who have helped out
during the last several weeks. A lot of
work has been completed (re-routing of a trail on Stoney Ridge Road, 3 bridge
repairs, brush cleared and water holes filled in with drainage tubes), but there
is more work to be done. If anyone knows
of areas with problems please call Larry at 843-7813. If you are able to help out, even for an
hour or two, meet at the club before 8:00. Hot coffee and fresh donuts are
always waiting for us.
The rental season is coming
to a close, but I’m already taking calls for 2009 and 2010. If you know of anyone planning an event, I
can be reached at 843-0749. Also contact
me for details about reduced rates for members.
By the time you get this
newsletter the Hunters’ Breakfast will have already taken place. I’d like to thank the members and their
families who showed up Friday night to prepare for and Saturday to work at the
Hunters’ Breakfast November 8th. Thanks again to Larry and Eileen who organize
this successful fundraiser each year. Details
will be announced at the November 16th meeting.

Do you want a
chance to show off your cooking skills?
Well here’s your opportunity – we need cooks for the following meeting
nights: January 18th,
February 22nd, March 15th and April 19th. Brad and Sis Rice have offered to cook at the December 21st
meeting. A sign up sheet will be
available in the kitchen. In addition, a
sign-up sheet will be posted for Friday night suppers once the kitchen opens in
January. If you’d like more information,
please contact me.
In closing, I’d
like to wish everyone and their families a very Happy Thanksgiving.
See you soon,
