November 2009 Newsletter
Hello!
Welcome to our
newest EMSC members: Nancy Hatch from
Clifton, Dola Hinckley from Clifton, Bill French – Lindsco Equipment/Ebberson
Electric from Brewer, Laura Bailey – M&N Operating Company from Richmond,
Donna Wood from Bangor, Thomas & Brenda Smith from Brewer, Beth Sutherland
from Eddington, and Douglas & Deborah Schmidt from Holden.
Our next meeting is Sunday, November 15th at
7:00 p.m. Lew Tourtillotte has organized
a special dinner, which will also be available to the public. His friend, Chef Som, will prepare a Chinese
meal of Lo-Mein with choice of Chicken or Pork and a
Spring Roll. The cost of this
supper is $5.00 and the profit will go towards the loan principle. The need will be for desserts so please
contact me at 843-0749 or catrider550@roadrunner.com
if you’re able to bring something yummy.
The Board of Directors’
meeting begins at 5:00.
The first 300 club ticket
will be drawn this evening. There are
plenty of tickets available, so contact Brent Spaulding if you’d like to buy a
ticket prior to the meeting (989-7762).
Better yet, come for dinner and the meeting - this is a great
opportunity to get acquainted or reacquainted with members.
Trail work is ongoing every
Sunday morning (8:00 a.m. to noon). There
is a lot of work left to be done in preparation for the riding season. If you are able to help out, even for an hour
or two, meet at the club before 8:00.
Hot coffee and fresh donuts are waiting for you. If anyone knows of areas with problems please
call Larry at 843-7813. Also let Larry
know if you’ve done any work on a trail near your home. That helps out too!
The rental season is coming
to a close and it has been a successful year with the total of 20 rentals,
including several events booked for 2010.
If you know of anyone planning an event ask them to contact me at
843-0749. Special rates apply to members
who have been in good standing for 1 year – call for details.

Speaking of the
club house opening for the season – we need volunteers to cook on Friday
nights. Members enjoy getting together
to socialize and maybe challenge someone to a cribbage game. A sign up sheet will be available soon. But in the meantime, if you have any
questions about “kitchen duties” please contact me.
If you currently
receive the newsletter by postal service and want to receive it by e-mail,
please forward your e-mail address to me.
Reminders of upcoming events and updates are sent throughout the month only
by e-mail. Also if your e-mail address
changes include me in your notification so I can update my database.
In closing, I’d
like to wish everyone and their families a very Happy Thanksgiving.
